Carl Aubrey McDaniel, Jr.
Bossier City, LA – Carl Aubrey McDaniel, Jr. passed away peacefully August 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving wife and children. Carl “ Buddy” to his sisters and family graduated from Columbia High School in 1960 and was the first in his family to graduate college earning his Bachelor’s Degree from LA Tech and later his MBA. He was an engineer at the LA Division of Thiokol and in Longhorn, TX.
Carl was brilliant, sometimes in his own mind, but most of the time he really was brilliant. He was a walking tech support for home appliances, vehicles, and construction; it didn’t matter. He would take calls anytime from family, friends, and often the children of family and friends. He knew the answer to everything.
Preceding Carl in death is his parents, Carl Sr. and Lucille McDaniel; Brenda Brown McDaniel, the mother of his children; and a stepson, Steven Bright. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ona, children, Carlos (Carl III) McDaniel and wife Cassie, Melissa McDaniel and wife Valeda Garside, Chris McDaniel and husband Shaun Kelly; thirteen grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Gregory and Anita Faye Barker; stepsons, Nathan Bright and wife Jessica and Eli Bright; other relatives and many friends.
A service celebrating the life of Carl McDaniel was held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA. Visitation with the family was held on Saturday August 18, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
