FORT MYERS, FLORIDA – A memorial service celebrating the life of Catherine Ann Hagwood Mattis will be held Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 3:00 at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Rowe. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until service time. Inurnment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Catherine was born February 10, 1938 in Hazelhurst, Mississippi and passed away on April 30, 2016. She attended Mid South Business School in Meridian, MS and worked for City Hall in Bossier City. She enjoyed gardening and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jamie Floyd Hagwood and Clara Mae Johnson Hagwood; husband Carter Harrison Mattis ; sister, Dorothy Louise Hagwood Stewart and cousin, Leslie Hagwood. She is survived by her daughters; Carla Ann Minneman and husband Alan R. Minneman of Albequerque, New Mexico, Joy Engstrom and husband Steven Engstrom of Naples, Florida and Cindy Anderson and husband Kevin Scott Anderson of Loganville, Georgia. Also left to cherish her memory are her brother Jimmy Hagwood and wife Hilda Hagwood of Ft. Worth, Texas, 7 grandkids, 4 great grandkids, 1 great great grandchild, 2 nephews and 2 nieces, Rhonda Stewart Denton & Tanya Stewart Hermanson.
