Obituary: Charles Rodgers


ELM GROVE – Charles “Chuck” Rodgers, 76, of Lake Bistineau, passed away on Friday, February 17th, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 21st ,2017 at 11:00 AM with burial to take place at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville. There will be a visitation on Monday, February 20th, 2017 from 5 – 7 PM at the funeral home.

He was born in Oak Grove, LA on November 20th, 1940 and married Barbara Borsch Rodgers in September of 1988. Charles had a career with the Shreveport Fire Department from February 16th, 1966 to November 19th, 1993 when he retired. He was a member of Post 388 American Legion, and had a passion for fishing and helping others.

Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara Rodgers; sons, Todd Rodgers, Max Dean, and John Dean; daughters, Tammy McLean and Jenny Wilcox and partner Holli Clardy; 24 grandchildren; Brother, Jerry Rodgers and wife Lucy; sisters, Grace Calhoun and husband Hugh, Bettie Bethay and husband Eddie, and Dee Nickles and husband Mike.

In lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc. 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
