Charlotte Elizabeth Morris Corkran
Rocky Mount, LA – Charlotte Elizabeth Morris Corkran, a resident of Rocky Mount, Bossier Parish, Louisiana, died on Monday July 30th, 2018 after a brief illness.
She was born on January 13th, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late John and Doris Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 51 years, Norman H. Corkran III, two brothers Frederick Morris and Albert Morris and great grandchild Zachery LaRosee.
She was raised in Pimlico, a suburb of Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore in 1959. After graduation from high school she worked as an operator for C&P Telephone Company.
She married Norman H. Corkran in 1964 and traveled with him during his U.S. Air Force career for over 25 years. Mrs. Corkran was a civil servant in various jobs at various installations as her husband traveled in the USAF. She retired at Barksdale AFB with 31 years of service in July 2003.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Anne Corkran and spouse P.J. La Rosee of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Adrienne Corkran-Plantinga and husband Willem of Tomball, Texas. She is also survived by her sister Deborah Walters and husband Ronald of Palm Coast, Florida, her brother in law Thomas Corkran and wife Nancy of Cambridge, Maryland and sister in law Theresa Curreri-Morris of Pasadena, Maryland.
She is also survived by grandchildren Nathan and Walter Plantinga of Tomball, Texas, Joshua La Rosee and wife Melissa of Killeen, Texas, Addie Pilat and husband Martin of Dallas, Texas and Joshua Sayer of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Additionally she is survived by 3 great grandchildren, Benjamin and Sofia Pilat of Dallas, Texas and Georgia LaRosee of Killeen, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Mrs. Corkran has been cremated and her remains will be buried at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA in a private family ceremony.
Family visitation will be held at Plain Dealing First United Methodist Church on Friday August 10th, 2018 from 5-7 P.M. A memorial service will be held at the Plain Dealing First United Methodist Church on Saturday August 11th, 2018 at 2pm.
