Obituary: Christopher Michael Lear

Christopher Michael Lear went home to be with the Lord on October 9th, 2016 in his home in Portland, Oregon. Chris was born in Dallas, TX on October 27, 1971. Although he grew up in Bossier City, Louisiana he spent most of his adult life in Portland, Oregon.

He is preceded in death by grandparents Arlton Junior Bryant and Henny Augusta Bryant and stepfather Lail Basil Hall. Chris is survived by his wife Sue Lear, parents Rita Mae Hall and Edward Arnold Lear, sister Angela Marie Bowlin, aunt Ellen Flowers and husband Ronnie, uncle Carl Bryant and wife Laura, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Chris’ favorite pastime was working on vehicles and heavy equipment. This love of “tinkering with cars” apparently started at a very early age because his sister Angie recalls helping him “paint the landlord’s car” with yellow house paint when they were about 4 years old! His family remembers him as loving and tenderhearted. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the Tatum Chapel of Broadmoor Baptist Church located at 4110 Youree Dr, Shreveport, LA 71105. Officiating will be Ronnie Cates of Broadmoor Baptist Church.
