Dora Sue Shields Castore
BOSSIER CITY, LA – Funeral services for Dora Sue Shields Castore will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel, Bossier City, La, burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery, Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Father Pike Thomas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the funeral home.
Dora was born on the first day of winter, December 21, 1945, and went home to be with God on the first day of summer, June 20, 2016. She left the world a much warmer place. She was a devoted and adoring wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt to many. Sue welcomed everyone into her home and fed them, ensuring all were loved and cared for.
Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Orena Shields Warren, her father, Aubrey Shields, and her stepfather, Archie Warren. She was born in Bienville Parrish, Louisiana and lived most of her life in Bossier City, where she met and married her loving husband, John Castore who survives her. She is also survived by her two daughters, Maria Kyson and her husband Alen, and Reneau Youngblood; her son, John Philip Castore and his wife Hillary; seven grandchildren, Trevor, Jonathon, Nathan, Camden, Truman, Lennon, and Chandler; sister, Sandra Johnson; brother, Stonie Garcie; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Nick Orlando; special friend, Dale Garcie; and many nieces and nephews.
Honoring Dora as pallbearers will be Jonathon Bertaux, Breland Walker, Cody Walker, Nathan Youngblood, Trevor Youngblood, and Camden Zylicz.
Her fierce and feisty presence will be greatly missed. We love and miss you always, Mimi.
