Doris Ann Hall
BOSSIER CITY, LA – Doris Ann Hall went to be with her lord and savior on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the age of 74.
Doris Ann Hall, affectionately known as Momma Doris, was born on October 24, 1941 in Bossier City, Louisiana, to the late Monroe Jones and Willie Mae Mitchell.
During her childhood, Doris accepted Christ at the tender age of eight, under the leadership of the late Reverend D.V. Martin at Stonewall Baptist Church. Doris served as a Deaconess, sang in the choir and attended Sunday school regularly until her health would no longer allow.
Doris’ early education took place at Charlotte Mitchell High School. During her high school years, she was crowned Miss Mitchell High School. After graduating in 1959, Doris pursued her career in child care by owning and operating her very own child care facility for over 20 years. She loved her family, helping children, and taking care of people.
Ms. Doris “Momma Doris” Hall was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lois Jean Francis and brother Cecil Dwayne Mitchell. Her memory and legacy will be cherished by her four children, Johnny L. Smith, Jr., William Keith Smith, Belinda Wyatt (Darryl), and Sidney Francis (Leia); three sisters, Mamie Joyce Jones, Renee Abrams (Reginald) and Erma Blake; a host of grand-children, great grand-children, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the Stonewall Missionary Baptist Church Family.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the 2nd floor critical care staff at Willis Knighton South Hospital.
Life celebration services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 2nd at the Stonewall Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2nd at the Stonewall Missionary Baptist Church from 10am until noon.
