BOSSIER CITY – Services for Elizabeth Bowman Machen will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Rose-Neath’s Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Jonathan Machen. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park Cemetery.Â
Elizabeth was born February 15, 1927 in Arcadia, LA to Draten and Bessie McElyea Bowman and died October 14, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Bossier and a retired LPN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D.C. Machen, Sr.; son, Michael O. Machen; three brothers and two sisters.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Dr. Charles Machen and wife, Emily, Roger Machen and wife, Kathy and D.C. Machen, Jr. and wife, Maria; daughter-in-law, Susan Machen; sisters, Sybil Allen and Joy Smith; special niece, Linda Machen Skelly and husband, Greg; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Elizabeth as pallbearers will be, Reade Machen, Kyle Machen, Matt Machen, Jimmy Scally, Sonny Charchio and Brett Chamberlain.
The family would like to thank the staff of both Pilgrim Manor and Grace Home for the care they gave to our Mom.
