Benton ,LA – A Graveside Service remembering the life of Elsie Benson was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA. Bro. Billy Pierce served as officiant for the service. The family welcomed visitors on Saturday April 29, 2018 from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Clifton and Christine Jones Scott welcomed their precious Elsie Mae into this world on March 17, 1935 in Caddo Parish, LA. Elsie was a most loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the age of 83.
Preceding Mrs. Benson in death are her parents; one brother, Gene Scott; three sisters, Pat Thomas, Betty Smith and Shirley Igna; first husband and father of her children, Arthur Rambo; second husband, Karl S. Benson; daughter, Sharon Sue Rambo; and grandson, Weston Benson. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Steven Rambo (Louise) and Fred Rambo; her daughters, Carolyn Rambo and Donna Dunn; step-sons, Swan Benson (Jodi) and Johnny Benson (Lea); step-daughter, Tina Benson; twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great- grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces nephews, other family and dear friends.
Chris Rambo, Josh Rambo, Chad Behan, Barry Woodward, Chayton Cope and Scott Robertson served as pallbearers for Sunday’s service.
The family would like to thank Stephanie, Mary and Charlotte from St. Josephs Hospice and Dr. John Noles for their kind and compassionate care.
