Harvey Neal Crawford, 81, of Bossier City, LA went to be with his Lord peacefully in his sleep on Monday, August 21, 2017 at his residents.
Neal was born on April 9, 1936, an only child to Philip and Lottie Green Crawford in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Neal joined the United States Air Force during the Vietnam ERA on December 1, 1959, he retired after 20 years active in the 11th Combat Defense Squadron, SAC Senior Master Sergeant. He then continued in the reserves for 12 more years at Barksdale Air force Base, Shreveport, LA. While serving the United States he married Elizabeth Terry for 46 years and resided in Shreveport, LA. Neal could not succumb to retiring so he began another career and retired in National sales production with Swift Meats, which later became Conagra. Neal’s hard work and ethics led him to continue to become a Security Guard for 13 more years with Christus Schumpert. It was in his last 12 years that he met his wife, Mary Pamela LaCaze Crawford and they loved each other through sickness and health.
Celebration of Neal’s life will be begin with visitations August 25th, 2017, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport. We will then continue our Christian Celebration Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverend Steve Caraway Pastor of North Highlands United Methodist Church. The 21-gun salute to honor Neal’s service to the United States will conclude his burial at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 Saint Vincent Avenue, Shreveport.
Neal was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Terry Crawford, his parents Phillip Crawford and Lottie Green Crawford.
Survivors included from his second marriage to Pam were four step daughters, Denise LaCaze Walker and her husband Brian of Benton, Louisiana, Mala LeAnn LaCaze of Louisville, Kentucky, Michelle LaCaze Statham and her husband Scott of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Renee LaCaze Granier and her husband Nicholas of Zachary, Louisiana. Neal’s first marriage he had one son Phillip Edward Crawford and his wife Shea VenHaus of McMinnville, Oregon, one daughter Edra “Edyie” Reeks and her husband Wesley, of Bedford, New Hampshire. Neal had 12 grandchildren. Brandon Crawford and Christian Crawford, Mary Elizabeth Granier and William “Law” Granier, Jonathan Reeks and Joshua Reeks, Kaleb Statham, Jordan Venegoni and Jessica Venegoni, Christian Walker, John “Cody” Walker, and Brian Owen “Bowen” Walker.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Granier, Scott Statham, Brian Walker, Cody Walker, Seb Rowe, Lou Holder, and Honorary Pallbearers Jonathan Reeks, Joshua Reeks, Jordan Venegoni.
