BOSSIER CITY – Funeral services celebrating the life of Herman Bardwell, 90, will be held at Rose-Neath Bossier. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until service time at 10:00 on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Officiating will be Tommy Patton. Herman was born September 5, 1924, in Pleasant Hill, LA, to Alma Bruce and Ulys Bardwell and passed away on August 14, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Reese, Thurman, Willie, and Nuel Bardwell and their wives, and brother-in-law, William Cullen Coleman. Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Juanita Coleman, nephew, Dale Coleman (Pam), niece, Brenda Weaver (Jimmy), and niece, Judy Gates (Cecil) and several other nieces and nephews.
Herman retired from Libby Owens Ford Glass Plant after 35 years of service. He was an avid golfer and loved to square dance and travel. He made many friends throughout the years participating in these hobbies. He enjoyed his friends and family and will be greatly missed by all.
The family would like to extend their sincerest and deepest thanks to the staff at Riverview Care Center and Life Path Hospice for the love and care they have given Herman over the last few months and to his special niece, Brenda, who has lovingly cared for him over the last six years.
Honorary pallbearers for Herman will be his great-nephews, Shawn Calhoun, Chris Foster, Cordell Coleman, Blayne Weaver, and Frank Nolte.
