Holly Elizabeth Holbert
Bossier City, LA – Holly Elizabeth Holbert was born on June 9, 1976, in Shreveport LA and passed away on April 14, 2018, in New Orleans LA following a short illness.
Celebration Services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Shreveport in Frost Chapel. Visitation followed the service in the Church Parlor. Conducting the service was Judge Thomas Bundy and Ray Boswell.
Honorary pallbearers were David Bahn, Robert Burgess, Tommy Canterbury, JJ Jangula, Jim Mabus, Ivan Smith Jr, George Tigner, Reggie Vaughn, and Dr. Stan Wilkins.
Holly is survived by her parents, Lawrence Edward Holbert and Betty Stanley Holbert of Bossier City LA; her brother, Brett Stanley Holbert and his wife, Jaime Henkel Holbert and their son, Coleman Mason Holbert of Milton GA; her aunts, Peggy O’Briant Stanley of Alpharetta, GA; Sharon Stanley Shirah and her husband, James Walton Shirah of Vienna, GA; uncles, David Bradley Holbert of Port Charlotte, FL; Douglas Theodore Huffman, Jr and his wife, Mary Kingsley Huffman of Granada Hills, CA; great uncle Thomas Watson Mason Jr of Noble, LA; Cousins, Tiffany Shirah Farr and husband, Drew Farr, of Flowery Branch, GA; Sherry Lynn Shirah of Dallas, TX; William Hunter Holbert of Tampa, FL; Heather Holbert Shonk of Pasco, FL and her husband, JJ Shonk; Kelly Holbert Piscopo of Palm Harbor, FL; Anna Kingsley Huffman and her brother, Jonny Kingsley Huffman of Granada Hills, CA; Laurie Lynn Mansfield and her daughter, Kelly Mansfield of Picayune, MS; step-grandmother, Patty Huffman of Tiffin, OH; and special friend Nicholas Jackson of Bossier City, LA.
Holly was preceded in death by her grandparents: Ernest Edward Holbert and Irene Holbert Huffman; William Ezra Stanley, Jr. and Ruth Mason Stanley; step-grandfather Douglas Theodore Huffman; great aunt Betty Mason Mansfield and great uncle, Richard Pruitt Mansfield.
Holly lived in Shreveport, Metairie and Pelham AL, but since 1984 has called Bossier City her home. Holly graduated from Airline High School in 1994 and attended Northwestern LA School of Nursing. Holly enjoyed working in the transplant unit at Willis-Knighton Medical Center, as a Call Center Supervisor for CenturyTel, a Staffing Account Executive in the Industrial Accounts Division of Career Adventures, a Business Development Account Executive for Holmes Auto Group, Loyalty Manager for Orr Nissan Auto, and most recently as Training Coordinator for the National l Safety Council, Ark-La-Tex Chapter.
Holly was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as one of the first Princesses of the Krewe of Gemini. She was funny and possessed a quirky sense of humor. She brightened the spirits of everyone she encountered and was a loyal and compassionate friend.
Holly was a lover of music, art, fashion, and loved cooking. The great joy in her life was her love for her miniature dachshunds, Buddy and Sweet Pea.
