James W. Reynolds, Sr.

Ā HAUGHTON, LA – Celebration of life service for James W Reynolds, Sr. will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 16 at 11:00 am. Bro Ken Basco of Bellevue Road Baptist Church will be officiating the service. Visitation will be held at Hill Crest from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 15. Interment will be at Haughton Cemetery. Daddy passed on December 13, 2015, after a short, but courageous, battle with cancer. Daddy had a strong work ethic and started work as young as 8 and even drove the school bus as a junior and senior in high school. He served four years in the USAF, owned several small businesses and worked in road construction. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, collecting coins and LSU and New Orleans Saints football. Most of all, he loved God and his family. He passed his work ethic to his children and made sure they were all educated or had a trade. His sweet smile and generous spirit will be forever remembered. Daddy was predeceased by his parents, Jess and Opal Reynolds; 1 sister, Donna; infant son, James Reynolds; infant grandson, Brandon and infant great granddaughter Madilen. He is survived by his wife, Mickey Reno Reynolds; children, Deb Poore (Tom), Angie Webb (Mark); Melissa Reynolds, James W Reynolds Jr and James Anthony (Tony) Reynolds; step-children, David Gantt, Jr (Barbie); Jeffrey Gantt (Melissa); Jason Gantt (April) and his fur baby, Prissy. He is also survived by his siblings, Dean Goff, Wanda Byrd, Lotherene Holmes, William Reynolds and Gerline Reynolds. He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Patel and his nurse, Lori, for the care and compassion shown to Mr. Reynolds during his illness. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Hospital. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 You may offer condolences and sign the on-line guestbook by visiting www.hillcrestmemorialfh.com.
