James Walter Nix, II
Born: Sept. 15, 1981 Left this earth: June 26, 2016 James was born to loving parents and family in Texarkana, TX. James loved and excelled at all manner of athletic sports, but of all of them, baseball was his best and his favorite. He enjoyed talking baseball with anyone, but especially those who could match his knowledge of the game. James is a 1999 graduate of Airline High School and went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree in 2009 from the University of Louisiana Lafayette.
James is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Lisa Nix; his maternal grandmother, Mazie Eitel; his maternal grandfather, Steve Funderburk; his paternal grandmother, Claudette Digilormo and husband Dominick; many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him and cared for him deeply.
James’ impact on our lives is still being felt as he chose to be an organ donor, and as of today, four lives have already been saved and several others have improved their quality of life due to his caring, generous, and compassionate heart.
A memorial service will be held for James at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, July 1, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
