BOSSIER CITY, LA – On the evening of March 21, 2016, Jason Michael Porter, 40, husband of Amanda Brooke (Burnham) Porter of Bossier City, LA entered into eternal rest. The relatives and friends of Jason and Mrs. Porter were invited to attend the funeral service of the former in Rose-Neath Funeral Southside Chapel on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. Burial was in Forest Park West Cemetery directly following the service. The family received friends in Rose-Neath Funeral Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA between 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, March 25, 2016 and beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, prior to the service.
Jason was born September 6, 1975 in Shreveport, Louisiana, the only son to James Michael (Mike) Porter and Diana Lynn (Sorrell) Porter. Jason was a passionate hunter and enjoyed many years hunting with his best friend, his father. He attended Woodlawn High School and graduated in 1993. Following High School he began his career as a highly successful salesman; working for Conco Food Service, Ecolab, and The Coca-Cola Bottling Company. At the time of his passing he and his wife, Amanda, had both returned to school pursuing a Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Bossier Parish Community College.
He is survived by his father and mother, James Michael Porter and Diana Lynn (Sorrell) Porter; his grandfather, George (Sonny) Sorrell; father and mother in-law, James (Jim) and Tina Burnham, wife Amanda Brooke (Burnham) Porter; three sons, Adam James, 17, Nathan Cole, 14, and Jackson Michael, 8; two daughters, Presley Raye, 10, and Saylor Lynn, 4; brother in-law, Cody Burnham; nephew, Kingston Burnham; and two nieces, Harper and Blakely Burnham and many other loving family members.
He had a very generous heart and quick wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
