BOSSIER CITY – Mrs. Jean Pantalion Smith, danced onto the streets of gold on October 8, 2014. Although we grieve, we know she is finally reunited with her loving husband and her son. Born October 10, 1927 in Nacogdoches, TX. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in May 1945, and attended Stephen F. Austin University. She joined the Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. Jean and Raymond “Bill” Smith were married on November 9, 1952.
Jean was the ultimate mom and Nana. Everyone was loved and welcomed in her home. and usually left well fed with a hand full of candy. She loved her family, friends, cooking, fishing, outdoors, especially burning, and could cook any ole country vittle you could think of. Jean loved her country and served it proudly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and her son Harlon Smith. Survivors include her two sons Hal and Guy Smith, daughters-in-law Mary, Tina and Karen Smith; grandchildren Dustin Smith and wife Jennifer, Spencer Smith, Emily Smith, and Ryan Cullick; great grandchildren Lexi and Destiny Smith, also numerous relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to church or charity of donor’s choice.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at the park Outlook #1 on the river across from Century Link Center, Arthur Teague Parkway, Bossier City, LA.
