BENTON – A memorial service celebrating the life of Jeremy Mitchell Chapman, 29, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 22, at Bellevue Place in Benton, LA. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Danny Gleason, pastor of Benton United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
Jeremy passed away due to respiratory failure Oct. 9, in Philadelphia, PA, where he was based as a flight attendant for U.S. Airways. He was born in Shreveport, living there and in Benton until moving to FL during high school. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Jeremy was loved by many for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to find it in almost any situation. He had a joy for life that spread to all who knew him. He loved his work as a flight attendant and looked forward to each flight that took him to a new place around the world.
He is survived by his mother, Donna Baldwin Osten, and husband, Dan; his father, Tony Chapman, and wife, Terri; three brothers, T.J. Chapman, Heath Chapman, and wife, Nicole, and Caleb Turrentine; two sisters, Ashley Wilson and Carla Sellers; grandparents, Billy and Sandra Upshaw, Forest and Katie Chapman; nine nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
The family would like to express special thanks to Clare Carder and Lindsey Redding, and U.S. Airways, for their help and loving support during this difficult time.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
