Jerry L. McKeithen
Bossier City, LA – Jerry Levi McKeithen was born October 26, 1944 in Dunn, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mack Brantley officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jerry had a hard fought battle with cancer; was strong all the way but lost his fight on August 10, 2018. Jerry was a very strong person, full of energy and loved his wife; his 4 legged babies, Charro and PePe whom had his heart and he loved his home. He had a side business mowing grass these last few years, it became a passion and he really took pride in his work. Jerry never met a stranger. He cherished his job with the City of Bossier Utilities Department and all of his coworkers; he especially loved his adopted son, Corey and best friend, Kenneth Oltz.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Katie McKeithen; father, Calop Jesse McKeithen; sister, Linda Faye Jimes and brother, James O. McKeithen.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Linda Brown McKeithen; sister in law, Ann Underwood and husband Marvin; special niece, Gina Marie Masson and husband Steve; special nephew, Kevin Underwood and all of their families, whom he loved with all of his heart. He is also survived by numerous friends.
Pallbearers will be Corey Leonard, Kevin Underwood, Steve Masson, Zachary Underwood, Skylar Masson and dear friend, Kenneth Oltz.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Patrick Deer and his entire staff, as well as the staff of Aime Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
