Johnny Bonomo, Jr.

Bossier City, LA – Johnny Bonomo Jr., 90, of Bossier City passed away on August 3, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Johnny was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Johnny and Teresa Cicero Bonomo. He attended Centenary College and then served in the armed services.

Johnny retired as a route salesman and also owned and operated Joe’s Pawn Shop. He also owned Bonomo Investment Co., a real estate development company. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and was very active in former years with St. Catherine of Sienna School and Jesuit High School.

Johnny was a man that never met a stranger, was kind-hearted and his smile lit up a room. He conducted himself and his business with honesty and integrity. He was known for his willingness to help others, his generosity and compassion. Johnny was a devoted and loving husband and wonderful father, as well as grandfather.

Johnny is survived by son, John Bonomo and wife Barbara; daughters, Tess Bonomo Miller and husband Robert, Marlena Bonomo and Patty McFatter and husband Ed and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Cordaro Bonomo, his parents and his grandson Lance Hutchinson.

The family would like to thank the special care takers, Mattie, Jaqueline and Cathy that gave loving care to dad.

Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath funeral home in Bossier City on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Karl Daigle will officiate. Entombment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Avenue.

Honoring Johnny as pallbearers will be Carson Dunn, Todd Harper, Tristan Harper, Derek Johnson, Michael Johnson, Cameron Miller, Joseph Normand, Landon Normand, Jeremy Sutton and Jay Woolley. Honorary pallbearer will be Scott Wene.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
