Kathleen Jennie Carlos Scroggins
Bossier City, LA – Kathleen Jennie Carlos Scroggins, 86, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2018. Her large family was very close to her throughout her final days. She was born on March 20, 1932, in Provincetown, MA, the daughter of Frank and Amelia Carlos.
A resident of Bossier City since 1973, she married a Natchitoches native, Curtis Scroggins, in 1951. Together, they raised nine children, during which time Kathleen worked many jobs including factory work, substitute teaching, and school crossing guard.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis Scroggins; her brother, Frank Carlos and his wife Susan; her brother-in-law Donald Scroggins and his wife Sandi; her children and their spouses – Glen and Lynn; Kathy; Michael and Shannon; David and Helen; Sharon and Harvey; Danny and Chuck; Amy and Ray; Paul and Kaye; Jody and Wade; her grandchil dren Carley, Andrew, Joni, Nicole, James, Peter, Keeley, Stephen, Daniel, Phillip, Mitchell, Caleb and JingJing; fourteen great grandchildren, and a large number of nieces and nephews. She was sadly pre-deceased by her beloved son-in-law Larry Ballard (Kathy Scroggins Ballard).

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 4th, at 10:00 a.m., with a graveside committal following. At the completion of services, the family and Christ the King Catholic Church invite you to share a meal at the church: 425 McCormick St., Bossier City, LA 71111. Memorial gifts to Pregnancy Care Center of Shreveport and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will support the charitable efforts to which Kathleen was committed.
