Larry Roberts went home to his heavenly Father on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at a local healthcare facility.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bossier City, La. Burial will be in Sicily Island, La. at 4:00 p.m. at the Pine Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Presbyterian Church. The memorial service will be performed by longtime friend and pastor, Reverend Dan Hignight.
Larry was born on January 11, 1940 in Sicily Island, La. to Ernest M. Roberts and Mae G. Roberts. He married his wife Ann Roberts in 1977.
Larry was a veteran, having enlisted in the Navy after high school. Larry had a career in sales working for JC Penney and Walmart. He retired form Walmart but kept busy delivering flowers for La Bloom Florist. An avid golfer, Larry spent his free time playing golf with his buddies.
Larry is survived by his wife, Ann Roberts of Bossier City, La.; daughters, Valda Harveston of Severeville, Tn. and Jennifer DeSilva and husband, John, of Bossier City, La.; sons, Roger Mosley and wife, Lorrie Roberts, and Richard Mosley and wife, Beth, both of Gulf Breeze, Fl.; brothers, Ronnie Roberts and wife Mary of Chesapeake, Va. and Tommy Gene Roberts of Biloxi, Ms.
Larry had six grandchildren who survived him: Joseph Odenwald, Justin, Jared, Jacob and Marie De Silva and Christian Mosley. He leaves aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins behind as well. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Chip McDonald and his staff for the compassionate care provided to Larry during his illness and all the staff at Colonial Oaks.
