BOSSIER CITY – Lester L. Meyers born September 5, 1929 in Shreveport, LA went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2014 in Bossier City. It was a peaceful homegoing.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bonnie; one son, Lee and wife Jenny; grandchildren, Owen and Ivey; special grandchild Beki Bozeman Elledge; great grandchildren, Annabelle and Elijah Elledge; one sister, Vada Jones and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margie Meyers; brother, Lewis and sister, Vetta Blake.
Lester retired with the Shreveport Fire Department after 25 years of faithful service. He also owned and operated a TV repair business for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening in past years and was always trying to find a bargain at garage sales and flea markets.
Lester was known by many for his generosity and sense of humor; a man who loved the Lord and his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. He has been a member of Shreveport Community Church for many years.
Pastor Brian Opbroek of SCC will officiate the graveside service which will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 in Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport. Visitation will be at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5-7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be: James Schwartz, Tom Bozeman, Cliff Bozeman, Wade Bozeman, Billy Meyers, Eddy Meyers and David Norcross.
