BOSSIER CITY – Lowell Andrew Yonker MSgt., 81, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2016, at Northwest LA War Veterans home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Hillcrest Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. Services will be Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Hillcrest Funeral Home at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.

Lowell was born in Marion, Nebraska, Red Willow County, on September 6, 1935. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1953. He left Phillips Nebraska and joined the services where he served over 20 years, retiring at BAFB. He worked in car sales for several years retiring to Toledo Bend, LA where he managed Lake Rental properties. In later years he moved to Bossier City where he cherished time spent with his family and friends doing the activities he loved most.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Allison Townsend Yonker; parents, John Andrew and Lula Adelaide (Winter) Yonker; 2 brothers, Claude Alvin and Donald Elbert Yonker; daughter, Tyra Ann (Yonker) Middleton; stepson, William Carson Knotts and brother in law, Don Davis.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Nadine L. Davis of Ventura, California; Lois F Schuster and husband Don of Phillips, Nebraska; daughter, Tammi Lynn Martin and husband Jim of Alabama; son, Troy A Yonker and wife Kim of LA; stepdaughter, Sharon Beckett and husband Lee of Texas; stepson, James Hugh Knotts and wife Amy of LA; grandchildren: Christopher M. Chatterson and wife Tara of Texas, John Bryant Baker and wife Laura of Texas, CJ Williams of Texas, Samuel Alan Knotts and wife Casey of LA, Ashley N. Williams of Texas, Morgan M. Olliver and husband Tyler of Indiana, Brent L. Knotts of Colorado, Scott A. Yonker and wife Candice of LA, Matthew Kyle Yonker of LA, Jesi D. Martin of Alabama and Niki L. Martin of Alabama; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be the US Air Force Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scott and Kyle Yonker, Alan and Brent Knotts, Chris Chatterson, CJ Williams, Ashley Williams and Bobby Mosely.

The Family would like to extend a thank you to all the staff for their support at the North LA War Veterans home.
