PLAIN DEALING - Funeral service for Mr. Marlton Eugene “Gene” Grisham, age 80, will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at the Plain Dealing Baptist Church with Bro. Deryl Jones and Bro Danny Eddy officiating. Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2014, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Grisham was born on November 26, 1933 and passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Bossier City, LA. He was an employee of International Paper Company for 27 years and the Bossier Parish Police Jury for 17 years. He will always be remembered for the love of his family, his church family, the “good times” he had singing and playing his guitar and his passion for hunting, fishing, gardening and sharing his vegetables with family and friends. He loved his “Dallas Cowboys” and was a lifelong fan.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vaudine Allen Grisham; three sons, Randy Grisham and wife, Marilyn, Danny Grisham and wife, Marvis, Ricky Grisham and wife, Karon all of Plain Dealing; seven grandchildren, Chris Grisham and wife, Wendy, Marcus Grisham and wife, Dr. Sue Phillips, Cody Grisham and wife, Whitney, Kristina Cannon and husband, James, Josh Grisham and wife, Rainey, Jennifer Grisham, Chelsea Grisham; great-grandchildren, Lucas Grisham, Parker Grisham, Trent Harbor and soon to be Brynlee Grisham; sister, Barbara Ann Hanson and husband, Kenith of Springhill; two brothers, J. R.Grisham and wife, Carolyn of Springhill, Bill Grisham and wife, Wilma of Shongaloo; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Grisham was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Grisham; sisters, Lois Dodson, Margarette McGee; brothers, Buddy Grisham, Floyd Grisham, and J. W. Grisham.
Pallbearers will be Chris Grisham, Marcus Grisham, Cody Grisham, Josh Grisham, Terry McInnis, Tony McInnis, Kevin McInnis, and Dale McInnis. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Mac Troquille, Josh McInnis, Ben Flores, and Coleman Barnett.
