Obituary: Martha Pearl Reyenga Richardson

BOSSIER CITY – Martha Pearl Reyenga Richardson was born February 26, 1917 in East Prairie, Missouri and passed away February 17, 2015 at Willis-Knighton Bossier just 9 days shy of her 98th birthday. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Friday, February 20th at Osborn Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Brannen and Rev. John Kavanaugh.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bossier. In 1934, she married Noel Richardson and they were able to celebrate 50 years together before his death in 1985. She was a warm, loving, caring and giving woman whose family always came first. Martha worked as a seamstress for Shreveport Garment Manufacturers, Design workroom and Shreveport Gymnastics.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob William and Edna Bridgman Reyenga; husband, Charles Noel Richardson; 2 sisters; and 5 brothers. She is survived by 2 daughters, Charlotte Browning (Wayne), and Shirley Brackett (Bill); brother, Herman Reyenga (Bettye) ; sister, Vera Dolan; 6 granddaughters, Debbie Brannen (Jerry), Kelly Browning, Laura Browning, Annette Brown, Ramona Pinto (Henry), and Amanda Ganley (Steve); 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She lived at the Arbor Assisted Living in Bossier for the past 10 years. Our thanks goes out to the entire staff for the love and care given mother during that time.
