BOSSIER CITY – Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mary Dorothy Elkins, 91, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Joseph Pemberton. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Elkins passed away on July 31, 2014, joining those she loved and have gone on before her. She had been a faithful member of Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church for the past 51 years and was a loving mother, devoted wife, and wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. Her passion was her family and as anyone could tell you, she LOVED to cook.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fincher Elkins; her parents, three brothers, and two sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael David Elkins of Bossier City, LA, Ken Elkins and wife Eulalie of Longview, TX, and Connie Delaney of Bossier City, LA; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
