Obituary: Mary L. Faughn

BOSSIER CITY – Mary L. Faughn, age 85, beloved and wife, mother, and grandmother died at Promise Hospital Bossier on Sunday, June 7, 2015, following a sudden illness. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born July 5, 1929 in Ontario, Canada to the late Walter and Gertrude Lewis. On June 15, 1946 she married the love of her life, John Faughn, to travel the world as a military wife. Mary was a devoted stay at home wife and mother for many years, before returning to work as a hairdresser.

Mary is survived by her two daughters Sandra Haraguchi and husband Nathan, whom cared for her in her final years with great honor, and Susan Cedars and husband Charles of Knoxville, TN; eight grandchildren, Kathy Woods and husband Chris, Mandy Faughn, Christy Cedars, Justin Faughn and wife Hirut, Sondra Cobb and husband Rick, Mildred Cedars, Nathan Haraguchi and wife Caroline, John Haraguchi and wife Sarah; twenty-six great grandchildren, her faithful companion Buster as well as other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Issac Faughn and two sons, SSG Issac David Faughn and James Walter Faughn.

Pallbearers will be Nate Haraguchi, Bubba Haraguchi, J.T. Haraguchi, Rick Cobb, Chris Woods and Alex Woods.
