BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services celebrating the life of Maxie Frake, 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. Her nephews, Rev. Bill Buie, Rev. Buddy Buie and Rev. Jim Buie will be officiating.
Maxie was born in La Compte, LA to Milton and Ida Buie. She was retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company after 38 years of service. She was a charter member, for 40+ years, of Faith Tabernacle Church where she worked as secretary/treasurer and as a Sunday School helper. Her last church affiliation was with Central Assembly of God in Haughton. She was a charter member and co-founder of the Ami Club, consisting of retired telephone company employee friends.
She was welcomed in Heaven by her husband of over 50 years, Augustus A. “Gus” Frake, and her daughter, Susan Alice “Susie” Johnson. Also there to greet her was her brother, Rev. A. W. Buie and wife, Gloria, and her parents.
Maxie is survived by her sons, Rev. G. A. “Toby” Frake and wife, Barbara; Gary Frake and wife, Lynette, and son-in-law, James Johnson. Also she is survived by her brother, Archie Buie and wife Judy, and by her sister Faye Teekell. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be G. W. Frake, Larry Frake, Robert Frake, Buck Johnson, Gary Bedgood and Gary Grady.
