Mr. Joseph Lawrence McCray, Sr.
Bossier City, LA – Joseph L. McCray, Sr. known by many as “Papaw” passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Bossier City, Louisiana on Saturday, March 3, 2018.
The homegoing service will take place at Temple Baptist Church #2, 1301 Martin Lane, Louisiana with Pastor Paul Marshall, Sr. officiating on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11 A.M. Interment will be Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10 A.M. at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church #2, 1301 Martin Lane, from 10 am to 6 pm.
Joseph was born to Joseph McCray and Easter Williams McCray in Shreveport, Louisiana at Confederate Memorial Medical Center on May 26, 1947. Joseph was loving, willing to lend a helping hand often, was loved by many far and wide, and became everyone’s “Papaw”. There will never be another man like him.
He is survived by his best friend, Mittie R. Mc-Cray; his children, Joqulin L. McCray, Joseph L. McCray, Jr, Jowi L. McCray; his sister, Elzadia Redic and a host of other brothers and sisters; his grandchildren, Colitra D. McCray, Shondra L. McCray, and Shamira L. McCray; and his greatgrandchildren, Morriah K. Jones, Josiah D. McCray, and Carter L. Williams.
