BOSSIER CITY – Graveside services to honor the life of Mr. Norman W. Rowe, 88, will be held at 3:30 P.M., Friday, December 11, 2015, at Cave Springs Cemetery, Marshall, TX. , officiated by Monsignor Earl V. Provenza. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Norman was born on November 29, 1927, in Marshall, TX and went to be with our Lord God on Sunday, December 6, 2015. He was baptized in the Baptist faith and trusted in the Lord always.
Norman was well known throughout the Shreveport-Bossier area for his Jeep mechanic skills and as such was affectionately known as “Doc Rowe”. In the repair bay or under the shade of a tree, Norman was the best. He devoted his life to the repair of 4 wheel Jeeps for over 40 years. He loved the vehicle, the owners, and taking care of both.
Norman was a big hearted man loved by all who knew him. He was a wonderful and loving father, grandfather, father-in-law, and friend. We’ll miss him every day.
Norman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille; his parents, Herman and Verna Mae Rowe; and sister, Jean Himelright. He is survived by his son and only child, Jerry Rowe and wife Mary; his only grandchild, Jason Rowe and wife Andrea; and two great-grandchildren, Kenedy and Christian Spivey.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone involved with the daily care for Mr. Rowe at Magnolia Manor Nursing and Rehab. The care given and compassion shown to Mr. Rowe during his residency was the best .
