Bossier City, LA – Services celebrating the life of Patricia Jo Low will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Reverend Gary Palmer officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Patricia was born to Joseph and Golda Walters in French Lick, IN on March 19, 1938, the fifth of eight children. She grew up on a farm in Indiana which led to her green thumb later in life. She was a graduate of Ladoga High School in 1956 and met the love of her life soon thereafter in Savannah, GA through her sister, Geneva. She was married to Dewey in the fall of 1958 and spent 54 years by his side prior to his passing in 2012.
Patricia spent the majority of her married life providing a home to her husband and five children. Being the wife of a retired Air Force member, she moved more than seven times before settling in Bossier City in 1972. After her children were grown she was always quick to volunteer to watch the grandchildren.
Patricia had many hobbies throughout her life including gardening, sewing and baking. She loved to read and work puzzles in her spare time. Throughout her life, she was able to travel across the U.S. while visiting family and friends in the family RV. Her creativity was put on display through her cake decorating services which she managed as a small business for several years.
However, her favorite passion of all was quilting and she took great pride in creating family heirlooms to commemorate the birth of a new family member or honor the union of a bride and groom. She will be missed by all of her family and friends especially those that received hand written letters from her on a regular basis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dewey Low, Jr.; son, Marty Low; brothers, Gene and Lester Walters and sister, Geneva Sheldon.
Patricia is survived by her daughter Sharon Davis and husband Chuck; daughter-in-law, Lisa Low; sons, Jim Low and wife Karyn, Tim Low and wife DeAnn, Joey Low and wife Athena; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Carico, Shirley Estavillo and Linda Lancaster; brother Paul Walters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mrs. Low as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
