Obituary: Patty Ruth Spinney

BOSSIER CITY – Patty fought hard to overcome her illness of 3 years, but in the end all she wanted was to “Go home and be with Jesus”. On Sunday, August 24, 2014, Patty went home.

Funeral services for Patty will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Haughton, officiated by Rev. Scott Sullivan. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Haughton.

Born on December 13, 1940, Patty was the daughter of Warwick W. and Sallie Mae Christie. She grew up in Dyersburg, TN and was one of four children. As an adult, Patty excelled in real estate and was an agent-broker for more than thirty years. For most of those thirty years, Patty owned and operated Master Key Realty. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Haughton, where she helped facilitate the Celebrate Recovery Ministry and was actively involved with AL-ANON. Patty loved to dance, loved to shop, and loved her shoes. She was a faithful Christian, Mom, Nana, and friend. She will be deeply missed!

Patty was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Ellis and Delores Wecker; and her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Rick Ryan and wife Tracy, Greg Ryan and wife Mona, Barry Spinney, and Gevan Spinney and wife Andrea; brother, Bill Christie and wife Sue Ellen; grandchildren, Colton, Megan, Seth, Sarah, Javonte, Kaylee, Luke, Jeb, Jake, and Jude; great-grandchild, Paisleigh; and fiance’, Bill Hayes.
