Princeton, LA – Services to celebrate the life of our sweet Momma, Ramona M. Blalock, were held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Dwain Wilemon. Visitation began at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment followed in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family received friends on Wednesday, March 13th from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Hill Crest.

Mrs. Ramona Blalock was born with her twin sister, Rebecca McFadden, on November 11, 1934, in Mullinville, KS. On March 8, 2019, after a battle with Alzheimer’s, Ramona passed peacefully at the home of daughter Lori and her husband, Larry Blair, in Tyler, TX.

Ramona was a member of First Baptist Church of Princeton for 40 years and spent many years rounding up neighborhood children to bring them to church. Although she was not perfect, she strived daily to exhibit her desire to follow Christ’s example and shared His love in her everyday actions. With a smile and a firm handshake, she was a friend to everyone she met.

Ramona graduate from high school in Mullinville, KS and became the secretary for the Principal, Mr. Gallion. She went to Topeka, KS and worked for Kansas Senator, Benjamin Weaver. She retired from Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, LA, where she was the Director of Purchasing. Although she had many jobs over the years, her favorite and most rewarding job was that of wife, mother, and grandmother.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Virgie (Stein) Price, her husband of 42 years, Leonard Blalock, Sr., her brothers, Larry and Jack, her sons Rick and Kyle, her step-son, Dale, and step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Cody. She leaves behind daughters (spouses) Sydney (Robertie “Bob”) Rollins and Lori (Larry) Blair, step-daughter, Teresa (Rusty) Malaspina, step-sons, Charles (Laurie) Blalock and Leonard Blalock, Jr., grandchildren, Amber Edmonds, Mark Chapman, Blake Chapman, and Ellie Blair, step-grandchildren, Brandon Malaspina, Kevin Blalock, Danny Blalock, Jessica Blalock, and Jennifer Blalock, great grandchildren, Brittany, Kiara, Adryanna, Shaine, and Layah, step-great grandchildren, Austin, Diesel, Asher, Emerald, Carma, Blake, Chance, Michael, and Abigail, great-great grandson, Kalin, and siblings, Reta, Rebecca, Clara, Walt, and Virgil.

Honoring Ramona as pallbearers were Larry Blair, Shelton Edmonds, Blake Chapman, and Quentin Price.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Rest in peace, Mom. We love you with all our hearts and will see you again!
