HAUGHTON – Services celebrating the life of Robert Wayne Boyd will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Fr. Jamie Flowers officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bob was born in Abilene, TX to Robert Boyd and Wayne Hodges Boyd on October 31, 1956. He was an electrician for Libbey Glass from 1976 until 1992 and then worked for General Motors of Shreveport until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of Flint Glass Workers Union, UAW, and IBEW Local Union 194.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He was a patient and hardworking man who loved his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alan Ray Boyd. He is survived by his wife Sheryl Boyd; sons, David Boyd and wife, Stephanie, Lance Boyd and wife, Janine, and daughter, Megan Boyd; grandchildren, Shannon, Emily, Jacob, J.R., and Graham; brother, Jimmy Boyd and wife, Linda.
