Thomas M. “Tim” Collins
Bossier City, LA – Thomas M. “Tim” Collins, 86, died on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. A small ceremony celebrating his life will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
Tim graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1949, Tulane University in 1953, a civilian at Air Command and Staff College in 1980, and Troy State University M.A. in Personnel Management. He served in the Coast Guard while at Tulane and served in an Army Tank Battalion in Mannheim, Germany. He loved reading and learning new things and also attended classes at Wright State University while at Wright Patterson AFB. In 1992, the family moved back to Shreveport and he continued classes at LSUS.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Nereus “Nero” Collins and Nell Pickett Collins; and brother, Nereus Wesley Collins, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Price Collins; daughters, Marianna Price Collins, Melanie Elaine Collins Hadley their spouses, Wesley Wolter and Benjamin Hadley; and nephew, Charles Wesley Collins and wife, Nancy Hess Collins.

Tim was laid back and quiet, with a truly kind and gentle soul. He accepted everyone for who and what they were.
