BOSSIER CITY – Services celebrating the life of William Franklin Smith, Sr., 82, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Bro. John Basden officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
William was born in Lawrenceburg, TN to William A. and Mary Smith. After graduation from high school, he joined the Air Force. He was a parachute inspector and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired after 21 years and began finding his passions. He enjoyed repairing small engines, gardening and was an avid sportsman. He loved hunting and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Patricia Sword and Cynthia Banks and son Joseph Smith.
William is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Smith; daughter, Malonie Smith; son, William F. Smith, Jr. and sister, Shirley Copeland.
