One dead in shooting involving police


A shooting involving police outside a business on Airline Drive in Bossier City Thursday night has left one person dead.

Bossier City police responded to an alarm at the Payless shoe store in the 2100 block of Airline Drive around 8 p.m. Officials say they found a man fleeing the scene and when ordered him to stop, he turned towards the officers with a weapon and shots were fired.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials declined to confirm who fired first or fired the shots that killed the suspect.

Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and the BCPD will conduct an internal investigation into this incident.
