Several athletes from parish schools signed with colleges Wednesday.
Six Benton baseball players signed — pitcher Thomas Allen (ULM), pitcher Tanner Webb (North Texas Community College), pitcher/outfielder Kade Bryant (Northwestern State), catcher/pitcher/infielder Griffin Sibley (Southeastern Iowa Community College), pitcher Jackson Jones (Louisiana Tech) and catcher/infielder Jax Prewitt (Centenary College).
Bryant was a first-team All-District 1-5A selection at both pitcher and outfielder last season. Allen was a first-team selection at pitcher. Jones was a second-team selection at designated hitter.
Benton reached the non-select Division I semifinals last season.
Three Haughton athletes signed — Christian Turner (baseball, Arkansas), Dixie Williams (softball, Centenary College) and Carson Adcock (fishing, LSUS).
Turner was a first-team selection at outfielder on the LSWA Class 5A All-State team last season. He was also a first-team All-District 1-5A selection.
Williams, a pitcher, was named first-team All-District 1-5A at utility.
Airline softball pitchers Aleena Duran and Emily Rachal also signed. Rachal signed with Copiah-Lincoln (Miss.) Community College and Duran signed with National Park College (Hot Springs, Ark.).
Duran was named second-team All-District 1-5A last season.
