The Parkway Panthers are ranked No. 7 in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 5A preseason football poll.
The Panthers, who went 8-2 last season, are the only Bossier Parish team ranked in the top 10 in any class.
Airline received 14 points in the Class 5A poll, which ranks 14th overall. District 1-5A teams Byrd (12th, 19 points) and Evangel (16th, 12 points) also received votes. Parkway received 42 points in the voting.
Two-time defending state champ Acadiana is No. 1 in the Class 5A poll. The top-ranked teams in the other classes are Neville (4A), University (3A), Many (2A) and Haynesville (1A).
