Pedestrian killed in Bossier City

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Bossier City Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at Benton Rd. and Greenacres Boulevard slightly after 5 a.m.

Witnesses reportedly told police the man was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling south on Benton Road as he ran across the roadway going from east to west. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness told police the traffic light at the intersection was green for the vehicle at the time of the collision. 

The identities of the persons involved have not yet been released by the Bossier City Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing.
