BOSSIER CITY – Funeral Service for Mr. Pickett T. Orr, age 81, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Central Baptist Church, Springhill, LA with Rev. Todd Pickard officiating and assisted by Rev. Harrell Shelton. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Mr. Orr was born on July 31, 1932 in Taylor, AR to Emmett Hopson and Grace Pickett Orr and died Friday, February 14, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. He was a lifelong resident of this area and had lived in Bossier City the past two and a half years. He was a member of the Airline Baptist Church in Bossier City and was a former faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Springhill. He was a veteran of the U.S.Army serving during the Korean Conflict and was a retired shift operator with Arizona Chemical. He was an associate member of the Good Sam’s Club. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Orr; and sister, Corrine Higgins.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nora O’Glee Orr of Bossier City; daughter, Gaye Orr Sterling and husband, Floyd of Haughton, LA; son, Gregg Orr and wife, Gina of Tyler, TX; four grandchildren, Barham Sterling and wife, Sarah, Eva Deeds and husband, Trey, Ashley Orr and Anna Orr; three great-grandchildren, Tre’, Hunter and Ramsey. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Russ O’Glee, James Durbin, Joel Talley, Mark Hixson, Chris Adams, Garrett McEachern, Paul McEachern and Jimmy Brackman. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hoppy Higgins, Good Sam’s camping buddies and Arizona Chemical co-workers.
