On Sunday, June 29 at their 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services, Morning Star Baptist Church will host their 2nd Annual Pink Sunday event for the C. Wright Pink Ribbon Project. It will be held at the Morning Star Baptist Church 5340 Jewella Avenue, Shreveport, by Rev. Theron Jackson, Pastor.Â
There will be a special offering taken up for the CWPRP during services. The donations from this offering will be used for helping those in need in our community that are battling breast cancer.Â
The C. Wright Pink Ribbon Project (501 (c) (3) is a collaborative effort of Bossier’s Multi-Cultural Developmental Center and Stonewall Missionary Baptist Church to impact breast cancer in our community through education, awareness and support. As of December 2013, we have been able to provide financial assistance to 43 women who were faced with financial difficulties while fighting breast cancer.Â
The C. Wright Pink Ribbon Project, with the communities help, will provide transportation to and from medical appointments, doctor/facility co-payments, pharmacy expenses, and monetary support to maintain necessary living expenses. We will also personally support breast cancer patients during the diagnosis, treatment and recovery phase of this devastating illness.Â
