Plain Dealing wide receiver Isaac Jacobs has been named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A All-State first team.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound senior caught 73 passes for 1,168 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Lions, who finished 9-3 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the 1A playoffs for the first time since 1997.
Despite missing seven games as a sophomore because of an injury, Jacobs caught 128 passes for 2,104 yards and 32 touchdowns in his high school career.
Plain Dealing senior quarterback/linebacker Logan Allen and sophomore receiver/defensive back Keldrick Carper both made honorable mention.
Allen completed 193 of 327 passes for 2,905 yards and 29 touchdowns with nine interceptions. Carper caught 38 passes for 755 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed for 293 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, Carper intercepted six passes and returned three for touchdowns.
Senior linebacker Kendrick Jackson of Class 1A state champion Haynesville (118 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions) was named the Outstanding Defensive Player.
Senior running back Marcus Lemoine was named Outstanding Defensive Player. He had 2,515 yards rushing, 303 receiving and 40 total touchdowns.
Haynesville’s David Franklin was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Tors to their second straight 1A title.
