The Bossier Parish Police Jury approved four Cooperative Endeavor Agreements (CEAs) at its
September 2 Regular Agenda Meeting, bringing nearly $1.6 million in state-supported funding to
two parks and a road project in the parish.
Of that total, $1,190,000 will go toward improvements at Kingston Park and Parish Camp at
Lake Bistineau. At Parish Camp at Lake Bistineau, half of the funding will help repair piers and
improve infrastructure. The work will be built along with the camp’s ongoing $1.4 million RV
park development project. The other half of the funding will support better recreation options
and quality-of-life improvements for visitors to Kingston Park.
Jurors also approved a $400,000 CEA for the U.S. Highway 71 Four-Lane Extension/Colleen
Drive Improvements, Planning and Construction Project. The funding will help with planning,
development, and construction as the parish works to improve connectivity and prepare the area
for future growth.
“These projects are all about making Bossier Parish a better place for the people who live, work,
and spend time here,” said Police Jury President Tom Salzer. “Whether it’s improving our parks,
investing in recreation, or planning for better roads, this funding helps us take care of important
needs across the parish.”
The agreements are partnerships between the Bossier Parish Police Jury, the State of Louisiana,
and the Louisiana Department of the Treasury. Through the agreements, state funding is used to
help meet local needs and support public projects.
With the agreements approved, Bossier Parish can move ahead with projects that improve
recreation opportunities, strengthen public infrastructure, and support continued community and
economic growth.
