Portion of La. Hwy. 527 closed

State Dept. of Transportation and Development (DOTD) officials said a portion of La. Hwy. 527 in south Bossier Parish is closed due to a large sinkhole reportedly caused when a large culvert beneath the roadway collapsed.

Officials said a stretch of highway between Pine Hills Rd. and Goat Hill Rd. will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time.

According to the DOTD, the sinkhole is located approximately 100 yards west of the La. 527 intersection with Pine Hills Rd. Traffic reportedly will be detoured onto Pine Hill Rd. and Goat Hill Rd. to avoid the damaged portion of roadway.
