Rising waters on the Red River has resulted in power being cut off to one subdivision north of Bossier City.

AEP, power supplier to the River Bluff subdivision, pulled the plug shortly after 12:15 Wednesday. Company officials reportedly were taking the action as a precaution against flood waters invading the neighborhood’s ground located power pedestals.

River Bluff is located inside the river’s east bank levy, just north of Bossier City on La. Hwy. 3.

Evacuations of this neighborhood have been recommended as the water is expected to rise another 1.5 to 2 feet in the coming days. The Red River is expected to crest June 6.
