Benton junior Jordan Myles finished runner-up in the Division II 181-pound weight class in the Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA State Powerlifting Championships held last Saturday at ULM’s Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
Myles scored 1,340 points. Melvin Young of Assumption won with 1,390.
Athletes compete in three lifts — squat, deadlift and bench press.
Myles is a two-time first-team All-Parish football selection. He also competes in the weight events in track and field.
