The Bossier boys and girls teams won tournament games in high school basketball action Wednesday night.
The Bearkats edged Natchitoches Central 50-47 in the Tioga/Pineville tournament. The Lady Kats routed Haynesville 71-37 in the Doyline tournament.
Elsewhere, the Haughton Bucs and Plain Dealing Lions lost in the first round of the Barksdale Federal Credit Union Parkway boys tournament. Haughton fell to Fair Park 81-42 and Plain Dealing lost to Southwood 69-47.
Antonio Davis led the Bossier boys with 17 points and nine rebounds. Larry Robinson scored 16. Chris Davenport scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Freshman Jacoby Decker had a couple of big steals late in the game and scored six points in the second half.
Three players scored in double figures in the Lady Kats’ victory. Destiny Thomas had 15, Necka Wynn 12 and Chrishawna Jones 11. Brianna West added nine.
Bossier doesn’t play again until Saturday at 3 p.m. The Lady Kats will face the North DeSoto-Calvary winner.
At Parkway, Keldrick Carper scored 13 points and Max Washington 12 in Plain Dealing’s loss to 5A Southwood. Yancy Kelly led four Cowboys in double figures with 14.
Tevan Beavers led Haughton with 11 points and Antonio Woodfork added nine. Diranique Holmes paced Fair Park (7-1) with 18 points.
In the other first-round game, Mansfield defeated Ringgold 56-28.
The tournament continues today with three games. Benton takes on Calvary at 4:30 p.m. followed by Airline vs. North Caddo at 6 and Parkway vs. Mansfield at 7:30.
The Benton Lady Tigers Tournament starts today with four games. Southwood plays Northwood at 3:30 followed by Parkway vs. West Ouachita at 5, Airline vs. Northwood at 6:30 and Benton vs. West Ouachita at 8.
