Bossier fell to the Woodlawn Knights 44-21 in a District 1-4A game Friday night at Memorial Stadium, but the Bearkats didn’t go down without a fight.

Bossier was within 30-21 after a 14-play touchdown drive in the third quarter, capped by Aareon Smallwood’s 1-yard run.

The Bearkats (3-2, 0-2 1-4A) still trailed by nine with just over eight minutes left in the game, but Woodlawn scored two straight touchdowns to pull away late.

Bossier couldn’t overcome the Knights (4-1, 2-0) big plays. Woodlawn had three scoring plays of 62 yards or longer.

Woodlawn running back Trivensky Mosley, who went over 1,000 yards for the season, rushed for 221 yards on just 15 carries and scored four touchdowns. He had rushing TDs of 35, 16 and 72 yards. He also caught a 62-yard TD pass.

Turnovers also hurt the Bearkats. Bossier lost four fumbles. Woodlawn had only one — an interception.

Bossier got a couple of big plays of its own. Xavier Venious sprinted 56 yards for a touchdown and Keon Brocks caught a 51-yard TD pass from Keimun Daniels.

Smallwood had a big game, rushing for 151 yards on 27 carries. Venious gained 86 yards and Joseh Bush 57.

Bossier continues district play Friday at Northwood (2-3, 0-2), which lost to Fair Park 24-20 Thursday.
