Prescott named second-team preseason All-SEC

Miss. State QB Dak Prescott

Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott, a former Haughton star, was named second-team preseason All-SEC in voting by the media at SEC Media Days Thursday in Hoover, Ala.

Nick Marshall of the defending champion Auburn was the first-team selection.

Prescott started seven games last season, completing 156 of 267 passes for 1,940 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also rushed for 829 yards on 134 carries with 13 touchdowns.

Prescott missed two games because of an elbow injury and most of another. He came off the bench in the fourth quarter to rally the Bulldogs past Ole Miss 17-10 in overtime in the Egg Bowl.
